After officially tying the knot, many couples are immediately immersed in a flood of loved ones as they go straight to picture-taking time, a cocktail hour or even their reception if it begins right away. As is often the case with weddings, the newlywed couple does not have much time to themselves to cherish the special memory together or share an intimate moment alone. It is usually not until after the party that most couples have some “us” time to themselves. The solution? A sweetheart table. Sweetheart tables are the perfect response to a couple’s rushed, public wedding day schedule. Rather than having to sit and mingle at a large table with several guests or the bridal party, the bride and groom can enjoy each other’s company and watch over the rest of their guests from their own intimate space.
Sweetheart tables are trending right now, and we thought we’d share some of the gorgeous styles we’re seeing right now. The key to doing sweetheart tables right is to make them small and set them apart from other tables. In order to have your sweetheart table stand out from the rest, we suggest using a contrasting table cover, such as one with a festive pattern. Or if your other table covers are patterned, go with a sparkly sequined cover for your sweetheart table (and vice versa). To make it apparent who the table is for, we love the idea of stringing up lights or utilizing painted wooden blocks to spell out Mr. & Mrs. on the table. Additionally, couples can opt for a comfy sofa to amp up the intimate factor rather than go for the traditional chairs. Share a special moment with your new spouse during your reception at the comfort of your sweetheart table!
