Bridal showers stem from the timeless wedding tradition of having an intimate gathering with the women in your life to celebrate you moving from a single gal to a married woman. It’s usually a bit tamer than a bachelorette party and it usually consists of brunch, mimosa and a plethora of gifts directed toward building your new home with your future husband. As for planning your bridal shower, inspiration can be drawn from anywhere, and we are here to share some of our favorites.
Inspiration #1: The Season
When planning your bridal shower, you are going to find that stores are going to carry decor for the season of which the shower is being held. So embrace it! Embrace the themed decorations, the traditional seasonal activities and use the seasonal moods to your advantage.
Winter shower: Have a cozy gathering with hot chocolate and a fireplace.
Spring shower: Reign in the florals and have a tea party!
Summer shower: Trade in your mimosa bar for a margarita bar and throw a fiesta!
Fall shower: Who said carving pumpkins can’t be a shower-worthy activity?
Inspiration #2: Your favorite aspects of your friend’s showers
You don’t have to copy and paste, but you can take an idea and put your own personal spin on it. For example, say you loved your friend’s mimosa bar, but you’re having a luau as opposed to a brunch. You can still have the bubbly, but maybe use more tropical juices like pineapple and guava instead of the traditional orange.
Inspiration #3: Your own wedding
You can use the same colors or same theme, sometimes even the same decorations as your wedding to create a beautiful bridal shower. It can give your closest friends and family a little sneak peak of the wedding, a feature your guests will adore. You can use the same centerpieces just on fewer tables, you can use the same florals, same chalkboard signs and you can even wear a short version of your wedding dress if you so desire. The best thing about this concept is that you can use the same decorations twice!
