They say a good relationship starts with a friendship. A friendship that is built over the years upon memories, trust and fun! Abbi and Cody have known each other since seventh grade and have been building their friendship and relationship ever since. Abbi and Cody grew up in Garden City, Kansas where they went to high school together. Although they went through school together in their hometown, they did not start dating until they were in college. After finishing their degrees, Abbi got a job in Ahwatukee, Arizona at a golf course and both Abbi and Cody packed their bags and made the move!
After living in Arizona for a bit, Cody found the courage to pop the question to his best friend Abbi. Cody waited for both of their families to visit Phoenix and took the whole gang to his place of work, Terravita Country Club in North Scottsdale, to show everyone around the facility and to see the sunset. It was the night before Christmas Eve, and Cody took everyone to a deck with fire pits to see the sunset.
After asking Abbi to take a picture, he got down on one knee and proposed. Abbi, of course, said yes! Afterwards, a waiter came with glasses of champagne for everyone to celebrate the occasion. Although Abbi was already filled with joy from this occasion, the whole family went inside the country club to find rose petals with a custom menu that Cody had made just for the occasion! The night was a perfect night spent with all of Abbi and Cody’s loved ones.
Abbi and Cody’s Scorpion Gulch engagement session near South Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona was captured by Traci Edwards Photography. In addition to capturing the love between Abbi and Cody, the photos also feature the fun-loving personalities of not only Abbi and Cody, but their Golden Retriever Bo as well! These are photos that they will cherish forever.
