We can’t get enough of Carla and JD’s beautiful Paradise Valley estate wedding. With photography by Jane in the Woods, this couple’s elegant yet laid-back wedding marks the airy romanticism of springtime Arizona weddings. Carla and JD met through their jobs, even though they lived hundreds of miles apart. They worked for the same company and were on the same team, but based out of different cities – JD was in Boston, Carla was in Scottsdale. Carla would often fly out to Boston to visit her family there and work out of the Boston office, where she met JD. They were platonic friends for over a year when they decided to start seeing each other. JD had moved to Arizona, and one of their first weekends as a couple was spent in Sedona hiking to go feel a vortex. Years later, JD brought Carla back to the same place along the same trail and proposed at the special spot they had cherished years earlier! She said yes, and the couple began to plan their beautiful wedding.
Despite a few stressful moments in the planning process, Carla and JD’s Paradise Valley estate wedding was a stunning occasion to remember. Five weeks before the wedding, their original venue backed out – after they had already sent the invites. After scrambling to find another venue and updating all the guests, Carla and JD were happy with where they ended up and couldn’t imagine it being any other way. Jane in the Woods captured all the dazzling moments, from the intimate first look to the fun dancing at the reception. A neutral palette of ivory and hunter green with hints of pale pink created a very timeless, relaxed atmosphere. A close family friend performed the ceremony which added to the sincerity of the wedding. At the end of the night, the couple and their guests headed over to Old Town Scottsdale to continue the fun. Carla and JD plan to honeymoon in Italy and Greece in September.
