Hues to Use: Plum & Gold | Arizona Weddings Magazine

With spring weather on the horizon in Arizona, darker shades are still playing bigger roles in wedding palettes. We are loving the combination of deep plum & gold that are reminiscent of old-world royalty. This sassy shade of purple creates a moody atmosphere that portrays sophistication and elegance. Traditionally, purple is the color of royalty. Queens would don lush robes of purple-dyed fabric as a sign to all of their regality and stature. Adding gold to this mix reminds us of the precious metals that would adorn her palace, crown, and throne. Additionally, a soft blush of pink works well to accent the two bold colors, and make the palette perfect for a wintertime wedding.

Bridesmaids can walk down the aisle wearing gold or plum-colored dresses (or even a mixture of both!). Bouquets would look dazzling with purple orchids or proteas. Other florals can include blush or pastel pink, which will tone down the mood without taking away from the gorgeous factor. We love the idea of an altar covered in alternating plum and pink flowers, or a background comprised of the cascading hues. Metallic gold can be intermixed throughout the wedding in the form as silverware, cake, and your own jewelry. Adding gold wrapped candies to the candy bar is a clever way to glitz out the space as well. Take a look at these fun photos for more plum & gold inspiration!
