Some love isn’t easy, but it’s always worth it, as Brittany and Nick found out over their six-year friendship/relationship. Their simple and stunning hillside engagement session captured by Nate Bowman Photography perfectly portrays the couple’s easygoing, fun-loving connection, which is only enhanced by the fact that they’ve been friends, and more than friends, for a long time.
Brittany and Nick met in high school, and on their first date they were approached by a man about planning their wedding, which Nick says the couple laughed it off at the moment, but now they take it as a sign from above that they were destined to be together. However, destiny has a funny way of working, and their high school relationship lasted no longer than a month. Brittany, who is a year older, went off to college at Grand Canyon University, and that was supposedly that. When Nick also began attending GCU, he started pursuing Brittany again, and Nick’s senior year of college, they rekindled the romance. Only a year after reconnecting, Nick decided to take the next step, and during a trip to visit Nick’s family in Michigan, he surprised his now bride-to-be with a lakefront proposal.
As windy as their road to happily ever after has been, this couple’s connection proves that when you grow together, your love grows too. Nate Bowman captured that perfectly in their earth-toned engagement shoot, and highlighted the couple’s tender affection for each other. The shoot was simple, elegant and romantic.
