Fashion Friday: Long Wedding Gown Trains | Arizona Weddings Magazine

Nothing exudes royal elegance more than a flowing, long wedding gown train! We love this timeless, classic look that never goes out of style. To get that “WOW” factor as you make your grand entrance and float down the aisle, a glorious train of fabric and lace sails out from behind you. The whole scene is magical with romantic whimsy, and we couldn’t think of a better way to begin the ceremony. Most people are familiar with Princess Diana’s 25-foot long train on her wedding dress she wore in 1981. As a dramatic trend-setter, elements of the dress have been incorporated into many different gowns from various designers. Ever since its showcasing, the Diana dress has promoted long wedding gown trains.

Taking inspiration from royal princesses, we love the idea of a light dress train made of completely lace. This will make a classic statement with a modern twist, especially if used on a strapless gown. Brides can choose from bold lace patterns for more of a contemporary feel, or opt for a traditional lace pattern to reminiscence in sweet romance. Or for a more subdued look, opaque trains trimmed in lace add a soft touch to an elegant design. Rather than having a round-shaped train, designers are taking a postmodern nod and adding stark lines to create more unique shapes in their gowns. Lastly, brides can even look to tulle to create a gorgeous long train, with layers upon layers folding together to evoke a textured delight. Check out your local boutiques below to see some of these gorgeous long wedding gown trains.
