Proposal: After a romantic dinner on the beach in Cancun, Mexico, Sarah and Robert went for a walk on the shore. They came upon a heart dug in the sand accented with candles and two chairs in the middle. Shortly after sitting down, Robert claimed he hurt his toe. As a nurse, Sarah immediately wanted to see it, but he kept hiding it from her. Through this distraction, Robert was able to take one knee and propose, completely taking Sarah by surprise!
Ceremony: The couple planned a destination Sedona wedding from their home in Michigan. Two of Robert’s favorite moments were when they saw each other for the first time in their wedding attire and when Sarah walked down the aisle. “We both shared tears during that surreal moment,” he reminisced. The pair exchanged vows on a stunning deck with the iconic Sedona red rocks shining in the distance all captured by DePoy Studios.
Reception: Transitioning inside to a gorgeous setup, tables were adorned with lanterns overflowing with lush greenery and pink blossoms. The couple shared their first dance as husband and wife, which Sarah recalled was simply “magical.” Towards the end of the reception, Sarah and Robert preformed a small Korean ceremony since Robert is half Korean. The due donned traditional Korean wedding attire and honored both of their parents with traditional Korean wedding gifts.
