As 2017 brides get bolder and more fashion forward with their wedding dresses, we are seeing more and more color coming from our designers. More deep ivory, blush, champagne, alabaster, and even gray!
As unconventional as it sounds, gray tones are making their debut on the bridal fashion runways, and we are in love. With its soft color, we find the look to be unique while remaining effortlessly bridal. Commonly paired with ivory lace or tulle, and embellished with silver sequins, this cool tone is becoming the perfect addition to our bride’s wedding day enable.
We personally love this trend for waterfront beach weddings complete with gray skies, seagulls, and splashing waves. Imagine a flowing gray toned, tulle skirt against slick rocks and grainy sand while holding a bouquet of greenery embellished with colored florals.
For the brides who love the romance of a night sky, we have a gray Hayley Paige long sleeve gown sequined with star embellishments! With its plunging neckline and flowing skirt, we see this gown underneath the moon, stars and twinkling garden lights on New Year’s Eve.
If your style isn’t as boho as all that, we have a Lillian West ballgown featuring a sweetheart neckline, sequined lace applique bodice and stunning full tulle skirt in a gorgeous light grey fabric. A beautifully glammed-out style to have in a more traditional setting, such as a church or ballroom.
For gray gowns, we suggest keeping the overall wedding color pallet cool, or with neutrals or very bold and bright warm tones. For example, if you are craving color, pair your gray gown with pops of hot pink or sunshine yellow. Otherwise, we suggest deep greens, neutrals, fair blushes, ivory, metallic (including rose gold) and various blue tones. This would also be a fun chance to allow your groom to wear that white tux and create a fun and unique contrast.
