There are some trends that just never go out of style. These classic looks are forever embroidered into the weave of beauty within the fashion world and are easily recognizable. Celebrities know these trends as “go-to looks” whenever they want something clean, classy, and glamorous. Today, we’re highlighting one of the most well-known trends within the wedding dress design realm: lovely lace. It’s true – lace is one of the most-used detailing to accessorize wedding dresses. From lace-patterned dresses, to 3D lace applique, and everything in between, we see it everywhere: on sleeves, in trains, over the exposed midriff, and even in chokers or bracelets.
For inspiration on how to perfectly wear lace on your wedding day, take a hint from the icons. Kate Middleton’s 2011 wedding dress comes to mind with its high-necked and full-sleeved lace details. Considering veils: no one can forget Grace Kelly’s elaborate heirloom lace veil with front blusher that she wore on her wedding day in 1956. On a simpler note, Cindy Crawford’s 1998 thigh-high beach dress with darling lace trim was a sweet, delicate touch. More recently, we love Amal Alamuddin’s lacy off-the-shoulders dress with dazzling lace print that she wore when she married George Clooney in 2014. The bottom line: when in doubt, follow the trendsetters and fashion icons. Lovely lace never goes out of style!
