From the Salt River to the Superstition Mountains, we are loving Rachel and Adam’s desert adventure engagement session captured by Kaylee Chelsea Photography!
Friends help friends. That is exactly what Rachel and Adam’s friends did for them. During their last year at Northern Arizona University, the two were introduced through their friends Ryan and Mary. Ryan and Adam were playing on the same hockey team while Ryan was dating Mary. In true college spirit, Rachel’s little in her sorority, Mary, wanted to set her big sister up with a guy. Ryan told Mary one night that Rachel was his favorite friend of hers and the rest is history. Mary got to work and set the two up.
Between double dates filled with ten cent beers and live country music, the two couples’ relationships flourished. Years down the road, Ryan and Mary tied the knot and Rachel anxiously awaited her turn to walk down the aisle. Adam had his plan and just needed to put it into action. He surprised Rachel with a trip to Flagstaff, the town of their alma mater. After a night of reminiscing, Adam woke Rachel up early to start the rest of their journey. Trying to keep Rachel guessing on where they were headed, he had her close her eyes every time they came close to an exit. The secret came loose as they passed the sign for Moab, Utah.
Moab had always held a special place in Rachel’s heart. Her family has been visiting this spot in Utah for a long time. The two set up camp and then Adam asked Rachel to join him on a hike to Canyonlands, the one National Park that Rachel has yet to see in Utah. As the couple approached the Mesa Arch, the crowd cleared and Adam got down on one knee to pop the question. It was the perfect surprise to kick start Rachel’s 25th birthday, which was the next day. To seal the weekend, they enjoyed white water rafting down the Colorado River. Life for these two will always be an adventure!
